Description:

Case involved the seizure and forfeiture of over $3.1 million found in the course of a random search by Arkansas Highway Police of a tractor trailer truck on 03/07/98 at the Lehi Weigh Station on Interstate 40 in Crittenden County. The litigation was a dispute over the proper jurisdiction for forfeiture proceedings. The prosecuting attorney's office filed a civil complaint for forfeiture on behalf of the state. The Arkansas Highway Police filed to dismiss.
