Description:
Products liability - Odwalla apply juice. Child consumed apple juice purchased
at a coffee shop and developed diarrhea caused by Escherichia coli (E. coli) 0157:H7 confirmed by
DNA testing to have come from the apple juice. Child was diagnosed with hemolytic uremic syndrome and was hospitalized for eight days with kidney failure and was given blood transfusion and subjected to dialysis. Medical and hospital bills totaled approximately $17,000.00.
