Ramon Rodriguez-Gonzalez was deported on April 29, 2019, after he was convicted of false claim of citizenship in March 2019 in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Alabama. Rodriguez-Gonzalez came to law enforcement’s attention again on May 30, 2019, after illegally re-entering the United States. He was removed again on June 1, 2019. After having been found illegally in the United States a third time, Rodriguez was arrested on June 27, 2025, by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency. He entered ICE custody on June 30, 2025. Rodriguez-Gonzalez is also currently facing state charges of homicide and abuse of a corpse in Bibb County.

This case is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative that marshals the full resources of the Department of Justice to repel the invasion of illegal immigration, achieve the total elimination of cartels and transnational criminal organizations (TCOs), and protect our communities from the perpetrators of violent crime.

This case was investigated by Homeland Security Investigations, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency. Assistant U.S. Attorney Allison J. Garnett prosecuted the case.
Outcome:
The Defendant was found guilty and was sentenced to 24 months in prison.
