In August 2020, appellant emailed respondent that he could no longer afford to pay his maintenance obligation and would stop payment beginning September 1, 2020. He has not paid maintenance since August 2020. Under the stipulated judgment and decree, appellant was also required to maintain life insurance to secure his maintenance obligation. He let his policy lapse in 2020 and did not obtain a new one.
