On May 28, 2024, Plaintiffs filed suit against Defendants, various representatives of the Federal Government and Government entities (collectively, "the Government”), seeking a declaratory judgment that the Corporate Transparency Act ("CTA”) and its implementing regulations (the "Reporting Rule”) are unconstitutional and an injunction against their enforcement (Dkt. #1). On June 3, 2024, Plaintiffs sought a preliminary injunction against the CTA and Reporting Rule (Dkt. #6). The Government filed a Response (Dkt. #18), Plaintiffs replied (Dkt. #19), and on October 9, 2024, the Court held a hearing on the matter. On December 3, 2024, the Court entered an Order enjoining enforcement of the CTA and Reporting Rule nationwide (Dkt. #30). The Government appealed (Dkt. #32). The Court amended its Order to correct a minor error that did not impact the Court's analysis or holding (Dkt. #33). The Government filed an Amended Notice of Appeal (Dkt. #34).
