Madison, WI - Juan Manuel Larios-Buentello, 50, a citizen of Mexico found in New Richmond, Wis., was sentenced by U.S. District Judge William M. Conley to 36 months in prison for illegal reentry after deportation. Larios-Buentello pleaded guilty to the charge on November 25, 2014.
Larios-Buentello was previously deported or removed from the United States multiple times, with his last removal on or about June 26, 2012. After his most recent deportation, the defendant again returned illegally to the United States, and on October 26, 2013, he was arrested in St. Croix County, Wis., for misdemeanor hit-and-run. The defendant's 36-month sentence was based in large part on his prior criminal history in the United States, which included two prior convictions for illegal re-entry after deportation.
The charge against Larios-Buentello was the result of an investigation conducted by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
