United States of America v. Lonnie James Maynard

Ashland, Kentucky, criminal defense lawyer represented the Defendant charged with production of child pornography.

On January 17, 2025, Lonnie James Maynard, age 54, of Raccoon, Kentucky, engaged in the production of child pornography. Specifically, a search of Maynard’s phone revealed a Snapchat conversation in which he directed a minor child to send Maynard sexually explicit photos. At Maynard’s direction, the minor child sent Maynard a sexually explicit video of the minor child.

Under federal law, Maynard must serve 85 percent of his prison sentence. Upon his release from prison, he will be under the supervision of the U.S. Probation Office for 10 years.

Paul McCaffrey, Acting United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Kentucky; Olivia Olson, Special Agent in Charge, FBI, Louisville Field Office; and Phillip J. Burnett, Jr., Commissioner of the Kentucky State Police, jointly announced the sentence.

The investigation was conducted by the FBI and KSP. Assistant U.S. Attorney Justin Blankenship is prosecuting the case on behalf of the United States.

The Defendant was sentenced to 210 months in prison.
