: This case was initially filed in state court in Macon County, Illinois. On April 26, 2024, the Defendant Church removed the complaint to federal court, asserting this Court's diversity jurisdiction under 28 U S.C. §1332. At that time, Defendant attested that there was complete diversity of citizenship between the parties and that the amount in controversy exceeded $75,000. The parties now file 9 , a Joint Stipulation to Remand, agreeing that the amount in controversy is less than $75,000. 9 is GRANTED as the Court determines it does not have jurisdiction over this matter, remanding back to the Judicial Circuit Court of Illinois in Macon County with no apportionment of fees or costs. The District Clerk is to mail a certified copy of this order to the clerk of the state court. The state court may thereafter conduct all further proceedings in this case.
