Eric A. Banks, a 25 year old, resident of Mobile, Alabama was sentenced today to 60 months incarceration followed by five years of supervised release for use of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.
On April 20, 2017, Mr. Banks pled guilty to use of a firearm in furtherance of his drug trafficking crime after being caught with a loaded 9mm Glock pistol. Banks was in a vehicle with the pistol and approximately 443 grams of marijuana packaged in individual quantities for sale.
The Drug Enforcement Administration and the Alabama Law Enforcement Association investigated the case and presented it to the U. S. Attorney's Office for prosecution.
