Nicholas Mitchell was shot to death in Brevard County, Florida. A few days later, his white BMW was stopped after a high-speed chase in Alabama that resulted in a crash. The BMW was driven by Robert Lanning. Rene Lemos arrived at the crash scene shortly after.

Lemos, along with her co-defendant Lanning, were charged with four crimes, including first degree felony murder.
Outcome:
The Defendant was found guilty and was sentenced to 18 years in prison.
