Additional Information: Marvin was born in New York City, on December 11, 1944. After his father left military service, Marvin moved to Bangor, where he attended Bangor schools. He graduated from Maine Central Institute in 1962. He did his undergraduate work at the University of Maine, majoring in history and government. He attended law school at Boston University, graduating in 1969. Marvin, his wife, Sheri, and three daughters have lived in Bangor since he started at Vafiades, Brountas & Kominsky, LLP in 1969. He is admitted to practice before the Maine Bar, the Massachusetts Bar, Penobscot Tribal Court, the United States District Court for Maine, First Circuit Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of the United States of America. Marvin is a true general practitioner who practices almost all types of law. He especially enjoys litigation, focusing on personal injury law and criminal law having represented people in various matters including OUI, misdemeanors, felonies and probate litigation. Marvin has been on many boards, including the Bangor Zoning Board of Appeals from 1970-1990, the University of Maine Alumni Fraternity Council from 1973-1983, President of the Board at Project Atrium (a group home for teenagers), Beth Israel Synagogue and is on the Human Rights Board at Eastern Maine Medical Center. In addition, he is a member of the Board of Bar Overseers. When not working or attending board meetings, Marvin enjoys traveling with his wife to warm locales, going out for strolls in the evening, reading or watching the Red Sox on television. Marvin has been at partner at Vafiades, Brountas & Kominsky, LLP for over thirty years.
