Edward (Pete) P. Akin, Esq., was born in Houston Texas. He is a graduate of Southwestern University (B.A., 1985), University of Texas at Austin (M.A., 1987), University of California, Los Angeles (PhD, 1994) and Notre Dame School of Law (J.D., 2001), where he served as Articles Editor for the Journal of Legislation. Prior to entering law school, Pete taught American History at the University of Cincinnati.
Pete is a partner in the litigation department and practices in the area of civil, commercial and construction-related litigation.
Pete’s clients include builders in construction-related disputes and civil ligation in a wide range of cases, including labor and employment disputes, intellectual property and occasionally personal injury.
He was selected to participate in the Cincinnati Academy of Leadership for Lawyers (CALL), Class XI. He has served as a speaker on rules and procedures for success in the federal courts.
Pete is admitted to practice in the State of Ohio and Commonwealth of Kentucky and is a member of the Cincinnati and Ohio State Bar Associations. He is a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity, serves as a truancy mediator in the Cincinnati Public School system, and participates in the Cincinnati Cycle Club.
