Additional Information: John Veilleux focuses his litigation practice on the defense of automobile casualty and premises liability personal injury claims, commercial liability, timber trespass, and construction disputes. He is an experienced trial advocate and is particularly skilled in preparing and arguing general civil and commercial cases before juries. He is a member of the Maine Trial Lawyers Association, the Property Loss Research Bureau and the Gignoux Inns of Court, in addition to the Maine State and Cumberland County Bar Associations. He is also a past member and Secretary of the University of Maine School Law Board of Directors.

John owned and operated a residential painting franchise for four years while attending Colby College. John then worked for three years for the franchisor in their New England headquarters following his graduation from Colby, with distinction in American Studies. At the University of Maine School of Law, John was immediately drawn to the challenges of litigation. He competed successfully for a position on the school’s trial team, which went on to participate in the national competition, and on the Moot Court Team, which won the Moot Court Trilateral competition. John was also selected as a Prize Arguer on the Moot Court Team.

John was recently selected by his peers for inclusion in the Best Lawyers in America in the specialty of Insurance Law. John was also recently named a Rising Star by the New England Super Lawyers publication.

John serves on the Board of Directors of the Casco Bay Youth Hockey Association and will this year take on the role of Coaching Director, heading the team of coaches for the youth league’s 900 players.
