Additional Information: Kim brought considerable appellate experience to Reed Smith when she joined the firm in 2004. She has successfully petitioned appellate courts, including the U.S. Supreme Court, and the Pennsylvania and Texas Supreme Courts, to grant discretionary review, and she has argued before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third and Eleventh Circuits, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, the Pennsylvania Superior Court, and the Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court. Kim is the principal author of briefs submitted to those courts, as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and the District of Columbia, the Texas Supreme Court, Missouri Supreme Court, New York Court of Appeal, Missouri Court of Appeals, Florida Court of Appeals, and the North Carolina Superior Court, and was lead counsel on an appeal for which a Petition for a Writ of Certiorari was submitted to, and granted by, the U.S. Supreme Court.

In addition to her work as an appellate advocate, Kim is a litigator and trial lawyer who represents clients in a wide variety of complex commercial litigation involving claims of inter alia, violations of the RICO statute, the federal securities laws, the Copyright Act, fraud, business torts, contract disputes, duties of officers and directors, breach of fiduciary duty, theft of trade secrets, legal malpractice, and employment discrimination. She has represented clients in matters involving questions of constitutional law (including First Amendment claims and constitutional claims asserted by commercial land developers), the Federal Arbitration Act, state arbitration acts, the Federal Anti-Injunction Act, and various jurisdictional disputes. Kim also has substantial experience representing clients in preliminary injunctions proceedings.

Kim was involved in overseeing a major bank's litigation in a South American country. She has also participated in rendering advice to boards of directors in connection with shareholder demands, and she regularly advises clients pre-litigation regarding preventive measures and minimization of risk and exposure.
