Additional Information: Patrick Scott Bedard was born on September 7, 1963 in Portsmouth, New Hampshire while his father was working as a welder on submarines at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. When he was five, his family moved to Columbia, Maine, a small town of about 400 people in Washington County where he grew up raking blueberries every August since he was old enough to hold a blueberry rake. He graduated in 1981 from Narraguagus High School. In 1985, he graduated with high distinction with a double major in political science and philosophy from the University of Maine. He graduated from the University of Maine Law School in Portland, Maine in 1988. He was admitted to practice in the States of Maine and New Hampshire in 1988 and continues to practice in both states. He has practiced law as a sole practitioner since 1990. He practiced law for a number of years with Mark Lawrence before Mark became District Attorney in York County. He has actively practiced law in the states of Maine and New Hampshire for over 17 years representing thousands of clients in almost all areas of the practice of law, primarily in state courts, including divorce, civil litigation, criminal law, estate planning, real estate, probate, business sales, criminal defense, zoning and planning, entity formation (corporations, limited liability companies, and partnerships). He lived in Kittery from 1986 until this past year and served on the Kittery Zoning Board of Appeals from 1992 until 2005, where he served as chairman of the Board of Appeals. He recently relocated to Portsmouth, New Hampshire. He has three children, two sons, Derek and Andy, who attend the University of Maine and a daughter, Jessica, who is a sophomore at Traip Academy. He is engaged to be married to Abby Cohen of Portsmouth, New Hampshire.
