Additional Information: Benjamin W. Laird is a member of the Environmental & Energy Law Practice Group in the Green Bay office. Well experienced in wastewater issues, he has represented both industries and sewerage districts in negotiations regarding pretreatment agreements. He also has assisted lenders in evaluating environmental risks associated with loan and business transactions and has advised clients regarding PECFA and underground storage tank issues primarily in connection with their development of both residential and commercial real estate.


Benjamin serves as general counsel to the Green Bay Metropolitan Sewerage District, the Heart of the Valley Metropolitan Sewerage District, and the Rib Mountain Metropolitan Sewerage District and has counseled them with respect to both clean water and clean air issues. He is also a director of the Citizens Banking Corporation and Paper Converting Machine Company.


Benjamin graduated summa cum laude from Carroll College in 1972 and graduated cum laude from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 1975, where he was elected to the Order of the Coif. In 1978, Benjamin was a founding member of Egan, Laird and Nellen, S.C., a Green Bay law firm that merged with Godfrey & Kahn in 1984.
