Additional Information: As an associate at Woodcock Washburn, Aleksander J. Goranin participates in a wide range of intellectual property disputes, including matters involving patents, copyrights, trademarks, and trade secrets. In the past few years, Alex was part of a team that tried a patent infringement action concerning a business method for trading fixed-income securities, was involved in a copyright action over pesticide labels, and handled a trademark dispute concerning website domain names. More broadly, Alex has gained significant experience in all phases of civil litigation by working on matters involving securities fraud, antitrust, and various general commercial disputes. After graduating from the University of Virginia School of Law, where he served as an Articles Editor on the Virginia Law Review, and was elected to the Order of the Coif, Alex worked as a law clerk for the Honorable Edward R. Becker, then Chief Judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. Alex was born in Poland and emigrated to the U.S. at the age of seven. He spends his free time running and swimming.
