Additional Information: udge Ann Covington is a former chief justice of the Missouri Supreme Court. She has focused her practice on appellate and litigation matters since joining the firm in 2001. Judge Covington served for 12 years on the Missouri Supreme Court from her appointment in December 1989. She previously served on the Missouri Court of Appeals, Western District. She was the first woman in Missouri to serve in each capacity. In addition, she served as an assistant attorney general of Missouri and was engaged in private practice in Columbia, Mo., before becoming a member of the judiciary.

Judge Covington is a member of the American Law Institute and has served on the board of the National Center for State Courts. She also has served as a member of the Advisory Committee on Evidence Rules of the Judicial Conference of the United States, as well as vice president of the Conference of Chief Justices. She is a member of the Appellate Judges Conference of the Judicial Division of the American Bar Association. Judge Covington is a member of the boards of various law organizations and also a member of the Board of Directors of Shelter Insurance Company, headquartered in Columbia, Mo.
