JOHN M. HOWELL was born June 2, 1974, in Edina, Minnesota. Mr. Howell attended Saint John’s University in Collegeville, Minnesota. While at St. John’s, he was a student athlete on the hockey team. He majored in political science, minored in communications, and was active with the Model United Nations Program. During his tenure at St. John’s, Mr. Howell interned with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration working with the Presidential Advisory Committee on Human Radiation Experimentation.

Mr. Howell attended law school at the University of Idaho College of Law. During law school, he was selected to the school’s Moot Court Trial Team; served as Vice-Dean for the Delta Theta Phi Law Fraternity; was a member of the College of Law’s Tax Clinic where he argued cases in front of the U.S. Tax Court; worked for the Federal Public Defenders of Eastern Washington and Idaho Habeas Corpus Office; and he was elected to, and served as, the President of the Student Bar Association. Mr. Howell also worked as a judicial extern for United States District Court Judge Edward J. Lodge.

After graduating from law school, Mr. Howell accepted a law clerk position with the Honorable Cheri C. Copsey in the Fourth Judicial District for the State of Idaho. He was a founding member of Brassey, Crawford & Howell, PLLC, and has been with the firm since September 2001.

Mr. Howell’s practice focuses upon tort defense, including products liability defense, medical malpractice, and general commercial litigation. He also has a real estate and corporate law practice. Mr. Howell is a member of the Idaho State Bar and is admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the District of Idaho and all Idaho state courts.
