Additional Information: David Belfort is a founding member of Corrigan, Bennett & Belfort, P.C. and is the managing member of the Cambridge office. Mr. Belfort is licensed to practice law in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and in the District of Columbia with privileges in all state and federal courts.

Attorney Belfort obtained his B.A., with honors, from Hobart College in 1992 with a concentration in Political Science and Economics. After a short stint with the New York State Department of Health he obtained his Juris Doctorate from Franklin Pierce Law Center with an emphasis in business, health care and trial practice. In 1996, he began work as an associate in the litigation department of the Law Offices of Frank N. Dardeno and was made partner in January, 2001.

Now, at Corrigan, Bennett & Belfort, PC Attorney Belfort concentrates in civil litigation with an emphasis on employment and business matters. He currently represents a number of individual and institutional clients before both judicial and administrative tribunals, including the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination, The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and the Department of Employment and Training.

Attorney Belfort is an active member of the Massachusetts Bar Association, where he was recently appointed to co-chair the Labor and Employment Section Council. Mr. Belfort is also a member of the Massachusetts Employment Lawyers Association and Health Law Advocates, a pro bono advocacy organization aimed at improving access to health care.

In June, 2007, Mr. Belfort served as co-counsel on behalf of Cynthia Haddad for a claim involving gender discrimination and defamation against Wal-Mart. The verdict Mr. Belfort helped obtain is beleived to be the largest employment discrimination jury verdict ($2,000,000) of the year in Massachusetts and included $1,000,000 in punitive damages.
