Additional Information: Sharon Van Dyck is a 1987 magna cum laude graduate of William Mitchell College of Law. She is a shareholder and head of the appellate department at Schwebel, Goetz & Sieben. She practices exclusively in the area of plaintiffs' personal injury and wrongful death. Sharon's practice focuses on helping injured people recover insurance proceeds in situations where coverage has been denied. She is particularly knowledgeable in the areas of insurance law, automobile law, dram shop law and products liability law. She has extensive experience in the specialized areas of dispositive motion and appellate practice, winning precedent setting decisions in the appellate courts on behalf of her own clients and on behalf of other trial lawyers and their clients.

She has successfully handled dozens of appeals at the Minnesota Court of Appeals, the Minnesota Supreme Court and the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals. Most recently, Ms. Van Dyck represented a brain injured child and his parents at the Minnesota Supreme Court (Illinois Farmers Ins. Co. v. Reed). The case involved a dispute between an injured child and an insurance company about his right to seek insurance coverage after the childcare provider who injured him was convicted of intentional assault.

Sharon is active with the Minnesota Trial Lawyers Association, where she is a member of the legislative committee, and Amicus committee, chair of the education committee, a member of the Board of Governors and the Executive Committee. She also represents Minnesota on the Board of Governors for American Trial Lawyer's Association, and is a frequent speaker at seminars and conferences throughout the state.
