David P. Salyer


Mr. Salyer, a native Galvestonian, joined McLeod, Alexander, Powel & Apffel, P.C. in 1986 and became a firm officer in 1992. He specializes in complex civil litigation, with an emphasis on personal injury litigation. He has experience in such diverse practice areas as product liability claims, employment law claims on behalf of both employers and employees, medical malpractice defense, FELA claims, historic preservation law, municipal law, toxic tort claims, and mass tort litigation.

Mr. Salyer represents clients from individuals to corporations such as the BNSF Railway Company, Texas City Terminal Railway Company, Union Pacific Railroad Company, BP America Inc., and Exxon Mobil Corporation.

Mr. Salyer is also active professionally and within the community, serving on various boards and commissions, including as chair of the District 5 State Bar Grievance Committee, chair of the Zoning Board of Adjustment of the City of Galveston, and as a Trustee and Director of the Rosenberg Library. He is a former president of the Galveston County Young Lawyers’ Association, Galveston County Bar Association, and the Galveston County Historical Foundation.
