He started as an intern, and later a law clerk, for a prominent Judge in the Fulton County Juvenile Court. Upon admission to the Georgia bar, he served as a public defender for the Fulton County Juvenile Court, and later was supervising attorney of public defenders for the Clayton County Juvenile Court.
