Mia Lorick is an associate at Roberts Markel Weinberg Butler Hailey PC and practices in the firm’s litigation and appellate groups. Ms. Lorick completed her undergraduate studies at North Carolina School of the Arts where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Modern Dance. After completing her undergraduate studies, she attended University of Houston Law Center where she received her Juris Doctor.

While at UHLC, Ms. Lorick had the honor of clerking for the Honorable Judge Smoots-Hogan in the 164th Civil District Court, as well as the Honorable Judge Andrew W. Austin in the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas. She also served as a Notes and Comments Editor on the Houston Business and Tax Law Journal, was the President of the Black Law Students Association, and served as a tutor to Professor Sapna Kumar’s first year Property class.

Ms. Lorick received several advocacy awards throughout her tenure at UHLC, including Most Exceptional Advocate at the Georgetown White Collar Mock Trial Competition, Best Speaker at the UHLC Moot Court Intra-Team Competition, and The International Academy of Trial Lawyers Scholarship, which is awarded to one student that exemplifies outstanding ability in courtroom advocacy. In addition to her advocacy awards, she was inducted into the National Order of the Barristers.
