She also has a special emphasis in employment matters. Jennifer has drafted numerous winning briefs, motions, and responses to various Texas Courts of Appeals as well as Petitions for Review to the Texas Supreme Court. She has practiced before the First Court of Appeals in Houston, Second Court of Appeals in Fort Worth, Fifth Court of Appeals in Dallas, Seventh Court of Appeals in Amarillo, Eleventh Court of Appeals in Eastland, Tenth Court of Appeals in Waco, and Twelfth Court of Appeals in Tyler. In her appellate practice, Jennifer has represented clients with an array of interests, including but not limited to employment, family, and probate. She has successfully represented appellate clients: in the rare situation in which the appellate court affirmed a trial court judgment that overturned a will based on a finding of undue influence, affirm a plaintiff's trial court default judgment based on the defendant's procedural defects, and affirm the property tax valuation methods employed by a taxing authority, among others. Jennifer maintains an active civil litigation practice. She represents both plaintiffs and defendants in complex, commercial, and consumer cases in Texas state and federal courts. She has represented clients in matters related to probate and trust litigation, family disputes, breach of contract matters, real estate matters, and employment matters. Recent experience includes representing an oilfield equipment company in an international breach of warranty dispute in federal court, filing for extraordinary remedies in a case involving fraud on the court, and representing a subcontractor defendant in a case involving suit on a sworn account. Jennifer also maintains an employment law practice. She has drafted and reviewed employee handbooks, employment agreements, and non-competition agreements. She has also represented both employers and employees in front of administrative panels such as the Wage and Hour Division of the Department of Labor, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and the Texas Workforce Commission. Jennifer graduated magna cum laude from the Texas Tech School of Law where she served as the Vice Chair of Mock Trial for the Board of Barristers. Before attending law school, Jennifer had the unique experience of working for several years as a human resources generalist who specialized in employee relations for a large hospital and healthcare system in West Texas and Eastern New Mexico. Jennifer has received numerous awards for her legal work in local and statewide publications. She is active in the community and local bar associations.
