As the founder of our firm, Attorney L. Patrick Mulligan brings more than 30 years of experience to each case he handles. As a Dayton criminal defense lawyer, he is unwaveringly committed to protecting the rights of accused individuals. Whether he is defending someone from assault or theft charges, he provides tough criminal defense and aims at obtaining favorable case outcomes.

During his legal studies at the University of Cincinnati's College of Law, he became interested in using the power of the law to stand up for the "regular guy." Drawing from his background in sports and debate, he quickly discovered he could use his competitiveness and quick-thinking in court. His passion for criminal law has translated into countless victories, inside and outside of court.

Before entering into private practice, Attorney Mulligan worked in the Montgomery County Prosecutor's Office where he prosecuted more than 180 felony cases. As a former assistant prosecutor, he knows how prosecutors think and approach cases. Since 1997, he has been a Board Certified Criminal Law Specialist by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. This additional certification, which is possessed by only 23 other lawyers in Ohio, demonstrates his expert knowledge regarding criminal law. Attorney Mulligan has also been honored with inclusion on the Super Lawyers® list and among the Top 100 Trial Lawyers.
