Bradley Bakker is an experienced employment and labor litigator whose clients include public and private companies. Before joining Armstrong Teasdale, Brad served as a judicial clerk for The Honorable Judge William J. Haynes Jr. in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee and subsequently worked in private practice focusing on employment and labor law. He defends employers in state and federal courts and before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and other administrative bodies. He also addresses risks related to Title VI and Title IX for large educational institutions. Brad regularly counsels universities about the shifting and complex regulations for Title IX compliance.
Brad handles a wide range of employment matters including complex Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) actions and noncompete agreements. In addition, he manages risk for businesses under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), including Title I and Title III actions. In particular, he helps employers navigate tricky issues related to drug free workplaces, drug testing of employees, and possible ADA issues related to evolving marijuana laws in the United States.
With a heavy emphasis on the intersection of technology, law and the workplace, Brad litigates complex matters related to e-discovery and file preservation, and has a strong understanding of the information technology issues that employers may encounter in litigation. Additionally, he helps emerging companies avoid the technical and legal pitfalls they confront during expansion.
