Elizabeth Sitgreaves is an associate at Dodson Parker Behm & Capparella, PC, where she draws upon her extensive background in legal research and writing to provide thorough advice and detailed analysis for her clients. Her areas of practice include litigation with a focus on handling appeals, providing general business advice to clients, and counseling governmental agencies on a wide variety of matters.


Prior to entering private practice, she served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Frank G. Clement, Jr., of the Tennessee Court of Appeals, including four years as the judge’s Senior Clerk. This experience provided Sitgreaves with a broad-based exposure to litigation in the state across almost all practice areas, with specific emphasis on administrative law, contracts, torts, and domestic relations.


Sitgreaves attended the University of Tennessee College of Law, where she graduated magna cum laude and served on the Tennessee Journal of Law and Policy. Sitgreaves received her B.A. in political science magna cum laude from the University of Georgia where she also served on the University Judiciary.


A member of the Nashville Bar Association, Sitgreaves co-chairs the Appellate Practice Committee and is currently in the inaugural class of the Nashville Bar Foundation’s Leadership Forum. A long-time Board Member of the Lawyers’ Association for Women (“LAW”), Marion Griffin Chapter, Sitgreaves currently serves as the Secretary for the organization. In 2015, she received LAW’s inaugural Rising Star Award. Sitgreaves most recently spearheaded LAW’s Coalition for Fair Courts, which provided voter education and outreach during the retention elections of Tennessee’s appellate court judges. She is also a member of the Tennessee Bar Association. Sitgreaves has also served as an Associate Member of the Belmont University College of Law American Inn of Court.


Sitgreaves has long been dedicated to public service. She has also been involved with the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Middle Tennessee for many years, as a Big Sister and organizing teams to raise funds for the organization as part of the Lawyers for Littles Bowling Events. Sitgreaves co-chaired the 2015 Lawyers for Littles event, which raised over $20,000 for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Middle Tennessee.


In her spare time, Elizabeth enjoys sampling Nashville’s thriving food scene. She writes a monthly culinary column for the L.A.W. newsletter, the Culinary Docket, which spotlights local restaurants.
