Ms. Zigtema attended Georgetown University where she earned her degrees in International Business and Finance. She attended the University of Kansas School of Law to obtain her J.D. At KU, Kate excelled in written and oral advocacy, winning the best oral arguments award for the Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition two years in a row.

While in law school, Kate interned as a felony prosecutor at the Johnson County District Attorney's Office. Upon graduation, Kate entered private practice in the Wichita Area.

Kate specializes in criminal defense and family law at the trial and appellate level. Kate has successfully argued cases before both the Kansas Supreme Court and the Kansas Court of Appeals. She also practices in the Municipal, State and Federal Courts in Kansas and Missouri.



Kate is a Johnson County native who attended Notre Dame de Sion High School.
