Matthew S. Scanlan is a Florida-licensed attorney and is a shareholder in the Tallahassee office of Carr Allison. As a lifetime Tallahassee resident, Mr. Scanlan is well-connected to the Tallahassee legal community, and has represented a wide variety of commercial entities, insurance carriers and insureds in tort claims, ranging from PIP liability claims, to slip and falls, to wrongful death actions. Mr. Scanlan was selected as an “Up and Comer” in Florida Trend’s Legal Elite for 2013. Mr. Scanlan practices a wide range of areas, including appellate advocacy, health care, condominium and community associations, government torts and public liability, and transportation litigation. He also has experience in nursing home and medical malpractice defense.

Mr. Scanlan received two bachelor’s degrees, as well as a juris doctorate (cum laude) from Florida State University. Following graduation from law school, Mr. Scanlan served as a Judicial Clerk for the Honorable Bradford L. Thomas at the First District Court of Appeals. Mr. Scanlan is currently active in the Florida Defense Lawyers Association, the Tallahassee Bar Association, and the William H. Stafford Inns of Court.
