Sheldon Alston began practicing law in 1994 and concentrates his practice in the field of civil litigation, including products liability, environmental, commercial, mortgage lending, and insurance bad faith. He is a recipient of the President's Award as Volunteer Lawyer of the Year in 1997 and the Jackson Young Lawyers' Pro Bono Award in 2001-2002. Sheldon has served as editor of The Mississippi Lawyer, director of the Jackson Young Lawyers, and director of the Young Lawyers Division of The Mississippi Bar. He has also served as clerk of the session at Fondren Presbyterian Church, U.S.A. and as co-chairperson for the Red Beans and Rice Festival benefiting Stewpot Community Services. Sheldon currently sits on Stewpot's board of directors. He and his wife Cassie have three sons.
