uss Stone is a native of Harrisonburg, Virginia and a 1986 graduate of Virginia Tech where he majored in Psychology and minored in Creative Writing. He attended Law School at the T.C. Williams School of Law of the University of Richmond and graduated in 1989. Upon graduation he returned to his hometown to serve as a prosecutor in the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office for the City of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County.

In 1994, he joined the Virginia Attorney General’s Office and served as Chief Counsel to the Financial Investigations and Money Laundering Unit where he handled white collar criminal matters in both State and Federal Courts. At the Attorney General’s Office he also handled numerous appeals before the Virginia Court of Appeals, the Virginia Supreme Court and the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals.

In 2000, he became Special Counsel to the Richmond Metropolitan Multi-Jurisdiction Grand Jury focusing on narcotics prosecutions in Richmond and its surrounding counties. In 2004, he joined Bowen, Champlin, Foreman and Rockecharlie.

Russ handles criminal and traffic matters, from traffic tickets to capital murder, around the Commonwealth of Virginia. He has handled more than 150 jury trials in both State and Federal Courts. He also handles civil and domestic relations matters. He is a father to one daughter and enjoys books, films, and playing guitar in his spare time.
