Andrew Jacobs’ practice is concentrated in trial and appellate litigation including contract, financial services, probate, professional responsibility, debtor/creditor and civil rights matters.
An experienced trial and appellate lawyer, Andrew works on a wide variety of commercial litigation, class action, appellate and civil rights matters. He has served as lead counsel in a wide variety of financial services litigation, trust disputes, insurance litigation for both defendants and plaintiffs, legal malpractice matters and derivative suits, among others. Andrew has represented a wide variety of financial institutions, insurers, technology companies, businesses large and small, and private persons. He has tried cases to verdict in Chicago, Tucson, Bisbee and Phoenix. Andrew has argued appeals before the Bankruptcy Appellate Panel, the Seventh Circuit, the Ninth Circuit, the Nevada Supreme Court and the Arizona Court of Appeals, and is the chair of the Firm’s appellate practice subgroup.
Among his professional pursuits, Andrew is a member of the Arizona State Bar’s Civil Procedure and Practice Committee and the Arizona Judicial Performance Review Commission. He has taught as an adjunct for two semesters at the University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law, has coordinated the District of Arizona’s pro bono program from 2007 to the present, and coordinated the Ninth Circuit’s pro bono program from 2007 to the present in Arizona and Nevada. Andrew was the chair of the District of Arizona’s Lawyer Representatives in 2008-2009, was the chair of the Ninth Circuit’s Lawyer Representatives in 2011-2012, and served on the Ninth Circuit’s Advisory Committee on Rules and Practice from 2008 through 2012.
Andrew has a client-centered practice. He likes to learn his clients’ needs and incentives and to work within budgets they approve to achieve creative, client-centered solutions, whether through settlement, trial, appeal or otherwise.
