Tom has been with Lynn, Jackson, Shultz and Lebrun, P.C. since 1972. He has more than 35 years of litigation and courtroom experience in both state and federal courts. He was recognized as the 2007 Trial Lawyer of the Year by the South Dakota Trial Lawyers Association.

Tom has served the bar and trial bar for many years. He is past president of the State Bar of South Dakota, past governor of the ABA Board of Governors, past president of the Western States Bar Conference and the past president of the Jack Rabbit Bar Conference. He is also a member of the American College of Trial Lawyers, the International Academy of Trial Lawyers, ABOTA, The International Society of Barristers, South Dakota Defense Lawyers and South Dakota Trial Lawyers Association.
