Jamie Mitchell

Jamie Mitchell is a Senior Associate at Stange Law Firm, PC in the Edwardsville Office. She is licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois. Ms. Mitchell focuses her practice on family law and represents clients in divorce, child custody and support, paternity, and other family law matters.

Ms. Mitchell received her Bachelor's degree from Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois with a double major in English Literature and Political Science. During her junior year at Knox, Ms. Mitchell spent a semester studying in Washington D.C., where she interned with the Curator's Office at the Supreme Court of the United States.

After graduating from Knox, Ms. Mitchell worked for the Legislative Research Unit in Springfield, Illinois conducting research for Illinois legislators and their staff. Ms. Mitchell received her J.D. from St. Louis University School of Law where she graduated cum laude. While in law school, Ms. Mitchell served as a managing editor of the St. Louis University School of Law Public Law Review. She also served as an extern for federal magistrate judge Clifford J. Proud and spent a summer interning with the Office of the United States Attorney for the Southern District of Illinois.

Prior to joining Stange Law Firm, PC, Ms. Mitchell worked as an Associate Attorney for a law firm in Illinois where she handled cases regarding tenant disputes, insurance defense and family law. Most recently, Ms. Mitchell was a Partner for a law firm in Galesburg, Illinois where she handled all aspects of family law, including, divorce, paternity cases, orders of protection, post-judgment enforcement and child support.

Ms. Mitchell was Lead Counsel Rated for Family Law in 2014, which is a quality assurance tool established in 1997. Attorneys are eligible to be Lead Counsel Rated after demonstrating significant experience, peer endorsements and a clean discipline history.

Ms. Mitchell has been selected as a Super Lawyer Rising Star for Family Law through Illinois Super Lawyers Magazine in 2012 and 2013. Each year, no more than 2.5 percent of lawyers in the State of Illinos receive this honor.

Ms. Mitchell resides in Staunton, Illinois with her husband, son, and black lab mix. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling and cooking.
