John is an experienced litigator whose practice focuses on the areas of civil litigation, white collar criminal defense, and military law. John joined the firm after serving as a Major in the U.S. Marine Corps from 2001 until 2012.
During his service in the Marine Corps, John served as trial counsel for 4 fully contested jury trials, over 50 bench trials and over 60 administrative hearings. Many of his cases involved allegations of fraud against the federal government, private entities, or individuals, as well as homicide and manslaughter. Additionally, John served as a trusted legal advisor to senior Marine commanders advising them on such matters as environmental, employment, contract and fiscal, and international law issues. Because of John's exceptional performance as a Marine Judge Advocate, he was selected as the American Bar Association's Outstanding Young Military Service Lawyer of the year for 2008-2009.
