Expertise: The need for an excellent forensic psychiatrist often far exceeds the availability. I have had a successful practice in psychiatric medicine for twenty years. My experience includes nine years as medical director for geriatric psychiatric hospital programs and many years as a psychiatric consulting doctor for over a dozen nursing homes. I am licensed in Tennessee, Virginia and Kentucky. I am board certified in psychiatry and forensic medicine. I have been involved in well over 1,000 forensic cases both civil and criminal. I have appeared as an expert witness or provided forensic services to courts and attorneys in states across the mid Atlantic region. The areas in which I have a special interest and expertise include: detecting malingering or documenting genuine psychiatric illness / impairment, mental health malpractice, psychiatric illness resulting from personal injury, nursing homes and elder abuse and neglect. I have a reputation for credible, thorough, understandable and persuasive work and I am user friendly. I was an invited expert witness for the plaintiff in an ABOTA mock trial in Nashville, 2003. I am the national director for psychiatry for the Midwest Center for Stress and Anxiety. Our program, Attacking Anxiety has been seen nationwide on CNN and the Discovery Channel for over ten years.
