Additional Information: Lisa Michelle Guerra joined Alaniz and Schrader after several years of prosecution in Fort Bend County, Texas. As a prosecutor, she was effective in litigating and negotiating cases in the child abuse, general felony, domestic violence, and misdemeanor divisions. Her practice at Alaniz and Schraeder focuses on a variety of employment and labor law matters. She is actively involved in a number of areas which include but are not limited to: litigation, handling and defending EEOC claims, employer/employee contracts, sexual harassment claims, retaliation claims, hostile work environment claims, handbook/policy drafting, and various aspects of labor law. She represents clients in both state and federal court and before administrative agencies such as the EEOC.

Lisa grew up in south Texas, the Rio Grande Valley, where she attended college and graduated cum laude from the University of Texas-Pan American in 1998. She then attended University of Houston for law school and obtained her Doctor of Jurisprudence in 2002. Lisa was subsequently admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 2002. She is also licensed to practice in federal court, admitted to the Southern District of Texas, and has been admitted pro hac vice to practice in federal courts in other states as well.

Lisa is a member of the Texas Young Lawyer's Association, Fort Bend County Young Lawyers Association, and Houston Young Lawyer's Association. As a former board member of FBYLA, Lisa has organized CLE trainings, events for the judiciary, membership drives, and has been involved in many community service projects throughout Fort Bend and Harris County. As a committee chair in the Houston Young Lawyer's Association, Lisa has been actively involved in educating teens on dating violence at local high schools through presentations and through the development of an informational brochure and local resource card.
