Additional Information: Robert L. Harris joined the law firm as an associate attorney upon graduation from law school in 2004. The emphasis of his practice is water law, environmental law, and real property law. Mr. Harris is a native of eastern Idaho and is the son of Layne and Beverly Harris of Newdale. He graduated from Sugar-Salem High School in 1995 and subsequently served an LDS mission in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Mr. Harris received an Associates Degree in Arts and Sciences from Ricks College in 1999 and a Bachelor's Degree in Biology from Utah State University in 2001. After graduating from Utah State, he attended the University of Idaho College of Law. During his time in law school, Mr. Harris was one of two students to receive the Idaho Trial Lawyers Association Award For Excellence in Legal Research and Writing and received first place in the Idaho State Bar Water Law Section Writing Competition. Mr. Harris also served as an Associate Member of the Idaho Law Review where his article, Narrowing the Local Public Interest Criterion in Idaho Water Right Transfers, was published in the Idaho Law Review in 2003. During his last year of law school, Mr. Harris was the Editor-in-Chief of the Idaho Law Review where he oversaw the publication of over twenty-five journal articles that included articles from United States Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, former Idaho Attorney General Larry EchoHawk, and Idaho District Judges John R. Stegner and N. Randy Smith. Mr. Harris graduated from the University of Idaho College of Law in May of 2004 and was admitted to practice as an attorney in the state of Idaho and in the United States District Court for the District of Idaho on September 30, 2004. Mr. Harris is also currently finishing up his requirements for a Master's Degree in Environmental Science from the University of Idaho, a degree that he began working towards while in law school. The emphasis of his environmental science classes is on hydrology and other water related issues. He recently co-authored an article entitled Ground Water Right Transfers in the Snake River Plain, Idaho with University of Idaho professors Dr. Gary Johnson and Dr. Donna M. Cosgrove and Bryce Contor, a Research Hydrologist with the Idaho Water Resources Research Institute. The article appears in the December 15, 2004 edition of The Water Report. In his spare time, Mr. Harris enjoys fly fishing, fly tying, basketball, tennis, hiking, camping, horse riding, and working on his father's farm. Mr. Harris, his wife Jennifer, and their children, Dallen and Anna, currently reside in Ammon.
