Description:
Alvin Bowman sued the City of Detroit and Police Chief Ella Bully-Cummings for transfering him for his probe into the death of a stripper linked to reports of a wild party at the mayor's mansion. Tamara Greene, a 27-year-old exotic dancer known as Strawberry, was shot to death on April 30, 2003. She was said to have stripped in 2002 at a party at the Manoogian Mansion. He claimed that his transfer to the Midnight shift was an adverse employment action. He retired after 31-years of employment with the Detroit Police Department.
The defendants denied Bowman's claims.
Outcome: Plaintiff's verdict for $200,000.
