Description: Nursing Home Negligence - Plaintiff sued Broadway Manor as surviving spouse of resident, who was convalescing at Broadway Manor after suffering from a stroke which rendered him incapable of moving and communicating. Mr. Jeter suffered head injuries from a fall when a Vanderlift sling broke while a nursing home aid was moving him. The claim against the nursing home consisted of the nursing homes failure to inspect their Vanderlift slings as required by the manufacturer and Broadway Manor's Policy and Procedure manual. Mr. Jeter later died. He was a WW II Vet who served as a member of a B-17 Bomber crew in Europe.
Outcome: Settled for $101,000.00.
