Tulsa, OK - Kimberly Hankins sued Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., Wal Mart Stores East, L.P., d/ba/ Wal Mart Neighborhood Market on premises liability theories.

Plaintiff alleged that as she was leaving a Neighborhood Market grocery store, she stepped onto a mat that slid out from underneath her. As a result of the mat sliding out from underneath her, Plaintiff’s left knee was bent and impacted with the floor. Plaintiff tried to break her fall by putting her hands down onto wherein her left hand/arm/shoulder took the brunt of the force of the fall. Plaintiff alleged that in addition to her medical treatment, she incurred additional damages. Plaintiff was able to settle her claims with the defendant.

Outcome: Dismissed with prejudice.
