Jane Doe sued Island Girl, Ltd. on a negligence theory claiming that she was raped on board the yacht Endless Summer by Rafael Dowgwillowicz-Nowicki, a deckhand on February 25, 2015.

The victim worked as a stewardess for the company that owned the yacht.

Plaintiff claimed that the owner of the yacht failed to provide proper security for her on the yacht where she lived.

Plaintiff was raped by Dowgwillowicz-Nowicki for more than an hour before escaping and calling for help.

Dowgwillowicz-Nowicki was charged with four counts of sexual battery and served two years before being deported.

Outcome: Plaintiff's verdict for $70,000 in lost wages, $4.2 million in lost future earnings and $66 million for pain and suffering. She was also awarded $290,050 in past and future medical expenses.
