Description: Lincoln, NE - The United States of America charged Matthew Podgorski with possession with intend to distribute cocaine and marijuana.
Matthew Podgorski, 23, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, was sentenced to 15 months in prison for possession with intent to distribute cocaine and marijuana. There is no parole in the federal system. In addition to his prison term, he will serve four years of supervised release following his release from prison.
On July 18, 2018, officers observed Podgorski driving a vehicle eastbound on I-80 in Omaha, traveling approximately 60 mph in a 50 mph construction zone. Officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle. Upon approaching the vehicle, officers immediately smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle. Officers searched the vehicle and recovered marijuana and two kilograms of cocaine.
This case was investigated by Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.

Outcome: The defendant pleaded guilty to count I of the Superseding Indictment and is hereby committed to the custody of the Bureau of Prisons for a term of 15 months; 4 years of supervised release with special conditions; and $100 special assessment.
