Description: Tulsa, Oklahoma domestic assault and battery in Indian Country charge criminal defense lawyer represented Defendant, Bobby Brian Thomas, age 39.
Thomas, from Bristow, Oklahoma assaulted and battered his substantially harmed his intimate partner, dating partner in Indian Country in December. In his plea agreement, Thompson admitted that on or about June 11, 2020, in Bristow, Oklahoma, he assaulted his dating partner. Specifically, he admitted to striking the victim with his fists and strangling her. The victim suffered substantial bodily injury as a result of his assault upon her.
According to U.S. Attorney Clint Johnson: "The fear and control domestic abusers exert on their victims is terrifying. Bobby Thompson threatened the victim and her family, beat her, and attempted to strangle her,” said Acting U.S. Attorney Clint Johnson. “Thompson will spend the next 24 months in prison where he will no longer be able to intimidate and harm this victim or her family.”
The FBI and Bristow Police Department conducted the investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorney Richard M. Cella prosecuted the case.
Outcome: Defendant was found guilty and was sentenced to 24 months in federal prison followed by three years supervised release.
