Description: The State of Alaska charged Lisa Donlon with second-degree murder in conjunction with the shooting death of her husband who was shot five times in the back of the head in 2010 while asleep.
Defendant claimed that the shooting was justified because Jason Donlon had been raping and torturing her for three days which her children verified had happened. She claimed that she was kept in a 12 by 20 cabin against her will, unable to leave by the threat of death to her, death to her children.
Ms. Donlon faced a sentence of up to 99 years is convicted.
She had been held in jail since she was arrested in December of 2010.
