Description: Birmingham, Alabama criminal law lawyer represented Defendant charged with illegally possessing a firearm.

In October and November 2020, Audrey Jereome Pruitt, age 39, of Birmingham, illegally possessed an American Tactical, Omni Hybrid, .223/.556 caliber pistol, and a Springfield .40 caliber pistol. Pruitt is prohibited from possessing a firearm because of prior felony convictions. In April 2008, Pruitt was convicted in the Circuit Court of Jefferson County for Robbery, First Degree and Receiving Stolen Property, and in March 2019, he was convicted of Domestic Violence, Second Degree.

The maximum penalty for being a felon in possession of a firearm is 10 years in prison.

ATF investigated the case, along with the Birmingham Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Darius C. Greene is prosecuting the case.

Outcome: Defendant pled guilty.
