Boston, MA - The United States of America charged Francisco Antonio Sanchez Bernabe with falsely representing a Social Security number as his own.

A Dominican national formerly residing in Methuen was sentenced today for falsely representing a Social Security number as his own.

Francisco Antonio Sanchez Bernabe, 50, was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Leo T. Sorokin to time served (approximately one year), one year of supervised release and ordered removed to the Dominican Republic. In December 2019, Sanchez Bernabe pleaded guilty to false representation of a Social Security number. He has been in federal custody since his arrest on the charges on April 18, 2019.

On Oct. 25, 2018, Sanchez Bernabe falsely represented that a Social Security number was his in an application for a driverís license at the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles. In connection with the application, Sanchez Bernabe provided various documents, including a birth certificate and Social Security card, in order to obtain the license.

42:408(a)(7)(B)-Falsely represented.with intent to deceive and for any purpose, a number to be the social security account number assigned by the Commissioner of Social Security to him, when in fact such number is not the social security account number assigned by the Commissioner of Social Security to him.

18:1028A- Knowingly transferred, possessed and used, during and in relation to any felony violation enumerated in 18 U.S.C. 1028A(c), and without lawful authority, a means of identification of another person.

Outcome: Dominican National Sentenced for False Identity Crime.
