Description: Cedar City and Manti, UT - Cult Leader Sentence On Child Abuse Charges

The State of Utah charged Samuel Warren Shaffer, age 35, with leader of the Knights of the Crystal Blade and John Coltharp, age 34, were found guilty of child abuse. Shaffer married Colthap's 7-year-old daughter.

Shaffer claimed that child marriage was a correct principle of God. He also claimed that he believed in polygamy and the impending end of the world.

Coltharp was charged with kiddnapping, child abuse, child rape, sodomy, obstruction of justice, child bigamy and lewdness involving a child.

Outcome: Shaffer was sentenced to 15 year's in prison. He was previously sentenced to 26 years to life in prison for child rape and child abuse in Iron county.
