Oakland, CA - Terry Leavitt sued Johnson & Johnson on a product liability theory claiming that she developed the talc in Johnson's Baby Powder and Shower to Shower caused her to develop ovarian cancer.
Johnson & Johnson denied that its product contained asbestos and asserted that the product did not cause Plaintiff's illness.
Weather the produce contained asbestos and weather it caused the Plaintiff's illness was very contested.
Outcome: Plaintiff's verdict for $29.4 million.
